Cleric Build Empty
PostSubject: Cleric Build   Cleric Build EmptyFri Sep 19, 2008 7:39 pm

Well I got this from another Forum..Hope this will help the clerics out there.

Clerics are the underdogs in the PK world. Very often, these
characters are underestimated until you see one in action. Clerics
achieve their true PK potential once they hit level 85 and above. They
are also the most crucial character that people often leave out in
their strategy.

Clerics are slow for one thing and a PK cleric needs speed. DEX is
the only way to go for a cleric to run fast either from escaping the
enemy or trying to catch up to them. 40dex is enough for you to climb
mountains/slopes and to outrun a templar/defender. 60dex is better
since you can do all that a 40dex can but faster as well as being able
to chase down any attackers/warriors who don't have DEX. Also, DEX
affects cooldown speed for skills and you will be able to use a lot of
skills often.

WIS is a cleric's main firepower. No WIS = No magic for cleric.
Optional WIS is anything above 200wis but 250wis packs a lot of punch
since you can master your skills then. Focusing on WIS will give more
damage and effect from skills but lowers defense considerably. I prefer
250wis just to master skills and pour the remaining bonuses to CON for
defense and DEX for speed.

CON is important for a cleric's defense. HP will increase and you
can wear better armor. Since clerics also can use shields, tehy benefit
a lot from it just like a defender does. Some may even mistake a cleric
for a defender because of their toughness at higher levels.

STR and INT isn't a popular choice among clerics since they benefit
very little from these stats. And because the coming patch limits low
stat items, it is not advisable at all unless you just want to learn
higher levels of Slight Attack (STR-based) or Magic Cell (INT-based).

As for skill choices, a cleric has a wide range of skills since
most skills they have come with an alternate skill. Below are some
descriptions of skills a cleric could learn :

Purify is an acolyte skill which dispels ALL negative effects on
the cleric including Net. Use this skill wisely as it takes some time
to cooldown but one on one against someone with Net, they can't catch
you easily. It also affects allies standing in the AoE around the
cleric.

Heal is an indispensable skill since a cleric with no Heal is not a
cleric at all. Heal can also act as Purify when it is charged to level
4-0 and above with AoE. Higher magic means more HP healed.

Lotos is a 2 in 1 skill and is very important to a PK cleric. First
use of Lotos would be to restore a lot of HP at the cost of your own HP
instantle which is called Transfer Injury. You can also use it as an
Instant Heal on yourself or other in an emergency provided you have
sufficient HP (it heals more than it takes away). The Alternative skill
is called Lotos and it damages your enemies from a distance with low MP
usage instantly. Lotos on higher WIS clerics can even take out
characters with low HP in 1-hit. However, the downside of Lotos is that
it can be Blocked or Evaded by enemies with Magic Cell or Response
Intensified. Take out those defenses by first before using Lotos on an
enemy.

Confusion is also a 2 in 1 skill. The first skill, Confusion, can
stun enemies around the cleric at a certain range. The higher your
Confusion level learned, the longer are the stun effects and AoE. It
can penetrate Magic Cell / Response Intensified as well as revealing
stealthed characters that get caught within its range. Another plus to
Confusion is that it is Instant as well. The Alternative skill is Heal
Blaze and it heals HP of friendly characters and yourself within the
AoE for some MP. It's another emergency Heal other than Lotos.

Bless is what most parties expect a cleric to have as well as being
essential for PK. It increases a cleric's Att, Hit, Def and Evd at the
same time. It requires time to cast though. Always cast it before
entering PK or cast Confusion to buy time to cast this skill.

First Aid is yet another 2 in 1 skill for a cleric. The first
skill, First Aid, is strictly for emergency usage only. It heals the
most HP when the target drops to below a certain HP level. Check out
the skill description for what the HP level is and learn more books on
it to increase the HP level higher. The Alternative skill is Blaze
Gavel and it is an attacking skill. It can damage as well as stun an
enemy or stun a group of enemies if charged above level 2-0. Pair this
with Confusion and enough DEX, it is possible to do stun combos which
are never ending unless it is Resisted.

Magic Power is a passive skill which increase a cleric's magic.
CON-based clerics learn this to make up for their lack of magic. If a
WIS-base cleric was to learn it, they have very high magic but may have
a lesser selection of skills to choose from.

Magic Cell may not seem important as an INT-based skill but it is
actually an essential survival skill even if learnt at level 1-1. Any
skill which requires charging that is below level 3-0 will not hit you
as well as melee hits. It also has a very fast cooldown speed. Always
cast this up to 1-1 even in PK which can prolong your time.

Slight Attack is another useful skill especially if a cleric is
using a WIS-based weapon. It causes stun when paired with the hammer.
Even if you don't add points into STR, the 2-3 seconds worth of stun
time is actually worth taking up the skill.

Skin of Steel is a CON-based skill and is used by clerics who wish
to have more natural defense. However, defense can be gained from
enhancing the armor and the skill slots are preferably put into other
skills.

Axe Skill is CON-based as well and clerics who use an axe learn
this to increase their melee damage with an axe as well as attacking
speed. Normally, clerics with high CON only take this up but the hammer
is still preferable unless you have a really good axe.

That's almost about all the skills a cleric should learn. Enhancing
your items is important to all characters. And to be a cleric, you must
have a lot of patience as it is not easy to level one. Always remember
that a cleric's duty is to support the team members first not PK. A
cleric shall only PK if the cleric is alone but shall support any party
members to PK on behalf of the cleric.

Ah, remember to persevere as clerics are always targeted first in
PK. Try to avoid getting killed at all cost even if it means healing
yourself before healing those who are attacked. If the cleric falls,
the party will fall very quickly. A party with a dedicated healing
cleric is near invincible.
